Yoga-Scheune Meilen

1. Rental Space & Location

The Yoga-Scheune is a partially open, covered barn loft with a surface area of approximately 70 m².

It is located in the Meilen ravine (Meilemer Tobel), at the edge of the forest beside the Dorfbach stream, directly adjacent to the historic main house “Zum Wasserfels”.

The Yoga-Scheune can be reached on foot from Meilen train station within 5–8 minutes.

2. Character of the Space

The Yoga-Scheune is a consciously held space for calm, respectful, and nature-connected formats.

It is not a conventional event venue, but a place for mindfulness, presence, and intentional gathering.

The space is rented exclusively to events that align with this character.

The landlord reserves the right to decline requests that are not compatible with the orientation of the Yoga-Scheune.

3. Suitable Formats

  • Calm styles of yoga and Pilates
  • Meditation and mindfulness formats
  • Gentle sound work at moderate volume
  • Workshops in the field of bodywork, awareness, and personal development
  • Contemplative or nature-based ceremonies

Music may only be played at room volume.

Local quiet hours must be strictly observed.

4. Not Suitable

  • Loud or ecstatic events
  • Formats involving intense vocal expression or strong physical release
  • Dance events or concerts
  • Events involving psychoactive or mind-altering substances
  • Sexualized or ideologically extreme content
  • Commercial sales events or markets

Open fire is not permitted inside the barn.

5. Maximum Number of Participants

The maximum number of participants is 25 people, including facilitators.

This limit is due to the structural and infrastructural conditions (steep staircase, wooden floor, one toilet located in the main house).

Events exceeding this number are not permitted.

6. Use of the Toilet in the Main House “Zum Wasserfels”

The toilet for events held in the Yoga-Scheune is located in the adjacent main house “Zum Wasserfels”.

Access is via the green wooden entrance door after the bridge. Details regarding key access will be provided after the booking has been confirmed.

Please note:

  • Access must be quiet and respectful at all times.
  • Please keep noise in the stairwell to a minimum.
  • The privacy of the house residents must be respected.
  • Access is limited strictly to the direct route to and from the toilet.

The event organizer is responsible for informing participants of these guidelines before the event begins.

The installation or use of temporary outdoor toilets or similar constructions is not permitted.

7. Parking

No parking spaces are available on the property for participants. One visitor parking space is reserved for the event organizer.

Participants must be informed to use public transportation whenever possible.

8. Opening Hours & Weekend Policy

Monday–Saturday: 08:00–21:00
Sunday & public holidays: 09:00–19:00

Only one event per weekend will be scheduled (excluding regular yoga classes).

Extended use beyond these hours is only possible by prior arrangement.

9. Rental Duration & Time Policy

The booked rental time includes the entire use of the Yoga-Scheune, including arrival, setup, dismantling, cleaning, breaks, and lingering after the event.

A short extension of up to 15 minutes for final tidying is included.

Additional usage time will be charged at CHF 35.– per hour.

10. Minimum Rental Duration

On weekends, the minimum rental duration is 4 hours.
Shorter bookings during the week are possible by prior arrangement.

11. Rental Fees

Hourly rental rate: CHF 35.– per hour

Recurring weekly yoga classes (weekdays, minimal setup/dismantling):

  • 60 minutes: CHF 30.–
  • 75 minutes: CHF 35.–
  • 90 minutes: CHF 40.–

12. Booking & Payment

After submission of a booking request and positive review, an offer / provisional reservation will be sent by email.

The requested date will be reserved for 10 days.

The booking becomes binding upon receipt of payment. If payment is not received within this period, the date will be released.

Weather conditions or low participant numbers do not release the renter from the agreed rental payment.

If cancellation occurs up to 7 days before the rental date, 50% of the paid amount will be refunded.

13. Cleaning & Waste

The space is nature-based and open on all sides. The floor should be briefly cleaned before the event begins.

Cleaning materials are available on site.

All waste must be removed or properly disposed of by the renter.

14. Responsibility & Liability

Use of the Yoga-Scheune is at the renter’s own responsibility.

The renter is responsible for:

  • The safety of participants
  • Compliance with house rules
  • Necessary insurance coverage
  • Any required permits or authorizations

The landlord assumes no liability for personal injury or property damage in connection with the use of the space.

The renter is solely responsible for the content, conduct, and effects of the event.

15. Final Provisions

Any amendments or additions to these rental terms must be made in writing.

Upon payment of the offer, these rental terms are considered accepted.
